Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch, who was carted to the locker room in the waning moments of a 44-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, has a torn Achilles that will end his season, The Detroit News has learned.
With 3:50 left in the fourth quarter, Branch successfully defended a third-down throw to tight end Jake Ferguson and came down awkwardly on his left foot. He remained on the ground for several minutes before hobbling to the sideline, stepping onto the cart, and going back to the locker room, where he was spotted with a walking boot and crutches after the game. He was questionable entering the game with toe and ankle injuries.
Branch, a 2024 Pro Bowler, is the latest member of Detroit's secondary to pick up a serious injury. Cornerback Terrion Arnold was placed on sea
