One of college basketball's top rivalries renews on Friday night in Cincinnati.

We're set for another edition of the Crosstown Shootout between Cincinnati (6-2) and Xavier (6-3) at the Musketeers' Cintas Center in a matchup between two teams that currently sit outside the top 100 in the NET rankings.

The Bearcats have a good loss, which came against Louisville, and a not-so-good one, which came against Eastern Michigan at home. Xavier, meanwhile, has dropped a pair of Quadrant 1 games to Iowa and Georgia but boasts a win over West Virginia. However, the Musketeers also have a 19-point loss to Santa Clara weighing them down a bit.

These teams have fairly similar profiles, and neither has been an explosive team offensively so far this season. Both squads sit outside the top 150 offensively, but unlike Xavier, Cincinnati has the defense to make up for it.

The Bearcats have, by most metrics, a top-15 defense in college basketball at the moment. They're led by 6-foot-11 forward Baba Miller, a Florida Atlantic transfer who is averaging a double-double on the season. Slowing down Miller could prove tricky for Xavier, given it doesn't quite have the same size in the frontcourt that the Bearcats do.

Cincy also has a 7-foot-2 starting center, and it's hard to imagine the Musketeers will be able to score enough points here — even playing at home. We'll take the road dogs here.
