WALKERTOWN, N.C. — A Forsyth County man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2023 shooting death of a man in Walkertown, according to the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office.
Tahlyk Martez Neal, 25, entered the plea in Forsyth County Superior Court for the Oct. 27, 2023, homicide. Investigators said that on that day, deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home on Cain Forest Drive, where they found Casey Goolsby dead in the backyard with multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities said witnesses told investigators that Neal and Goolsby were at the residence when a physical altercation broke out between the two. After the men were separated, Neal pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at Goolsby before fleeing the scene. Neal later turned himself
