WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita Public School students had the opportunity to perform at the McCormick School Museum on Friday.
As part of the museum’s yearly open house, choir and orchestra students came to perform live holiday music.
The Fine Arts Executive Coordinator for Wichita Public Schools, Shawn Chastain, says this performance helps students get to experience the school district’s history.
“We’re so grateful for McCormick for keeping this annual tradition alive, and allowing our students to chance to visit the past of our district, while also bringing the music of today, and the students of today and tomorrow,” Chastain said.
The McCormick School was built in 1890 and served as a school until 1992, when it reopened as a museum.
