ST. CLAIR SHORES – St. Clair Shores Unified exploded for a season-high in goals Thursday.
The end result was the Lakers building a 6-0 advantage by the end of the first period before cruising to an 11-0 shutout of Grosse Pointe North in a Macomb Area Conference crossover game at the St. Clair Shores Civic Arena.
St. Clair Shores added five more goals in the second period and did not tally in the third period of play. The Lakers outshot Grosse Pointe North 36-10 in the contest.
Tommy Petroske scored what proved to be the game-winner with 11:51 left in the first period off an Gavin Snarski pass to set the tone.
The sixth goal of the first period came from Troy Lutomski, a short-handed goal with 50 seconds left in the first period.
