GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A growing convenience store chain recently gave Feeding America West Michigan (FAWM) a major boost in its efforts to make sure families have healthy meals.

On Friday, Casey's made a $10,000 donation to FAWM during a grand opening event at 2134 Alpine Avenue NW in Walker to celebrate its new stores in the Grand Rapids area.

"We cannot do our work alone, and to have community partners like Casey's are so important to us being able to feed our families," said Senior Manager of Donor Relations at FAWM Mary Slafkosky. "As you know, we've come out of a time in November where SNAP benefits were interrupted, and so we're able to do more with community donations like this and be able to feed our families.
