A Connecticut jury has found that a 48-year-old man repeatedly sexually abused a girl for more than eight years, authorities said. 

Corey Baker, of Hamden, was found guilty of sexual assault in the fourth degree and risk of injury to a minor, the Office of State's Attorney announced on Friday, Dec. 5. Judge Peter L. Brown, who presided over the trial, will also sentence Baker in February. 

Baker knew his victim and began abusing her when she was just 6 years old. It continued until she was 14, prosecutors said. 

Authorities did not disclose how Baker knew the victim.
