More than 100 people filled Varner Hall Friday morning with the hopes to address the Board of Regents ahead of its vote to potentially cut millions in funding from UNL.
One of the early speakers, 9-year-old Alex VanderPlas, told the regents his mother works for UNL’s statistics department. He expressed worry about his mom’s department being cut and hopes to attend UNL in the future to study paleontology.
