According to CreateOn, magnets from the cube sets may detach, creating a "small-parts risk" that could be dangerous if a piece, or pieces are ingested by children.
About 9,400 units of CreateOn's Crayola-branded pip-Cubes were recently recalled for posing an "ingestion hazard" to children.

Nearly 10,000 CreateOn Crayola-branded pip-Cubes were recalled on Thursday, Dec. 4, for posing an "ingestion hazard" to children, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The CPSC's notice says the building cubes contain magnets that can come loose if the seams separate.

If ingested, the high-powered magnets can stick to each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system, according to the CPSC notice. Perforations, twisting or blocking of the intestines, blood poisoning and death may occur, the government agency said.

CreateOn, the manufacturer of the magnetic building tiles, said no injuries have been reported as of Dec. 4.

"CreateOn takes product safety very seriously, and we are fully cooperating with the CPSC on this voluntary recall," the Wheeling, Illinois-based manufacturer said in a statement. "We have implemented all required actions, including notifying consumers, updating our website with recall instructions, and working with our retail partners to remove affected product from shelves."

Here's what to know about the ongoing recall.
