BISMARCK — Targa Badlands LLC, which operated the Johnson Compressor Station in Dunn County from 2018 to 2022, was sentenced today for failing to timely install continuous parameter monitoring systems on certain engines at the site, said the U.S. Attorney Nicholas W. Chase. The failure, according to a press release, could lead to increased hazardous air pollutants being released into the environment.

The penalties the company faces include three years of probation, 500 hours of community service to the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara (MHA) Nation, and payment of a $500,000 National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (“NESHAP”) Clean Air Act violation fine.

Targa Badlands LLC had pleaded guilty to the offense earlier this year.
