BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Christmas spirit was alive and well in Bangor Friday. Two companies acted as Santa’s elves and delivered gifts to a local toy program that gives families in need a hand around the holidays.

UScellular and T-Mobile teamed up to present $5,000 worth of presents to Penquis’ Toyland Room.

Some lucky kids got a first go at the haul, with each little one getting to try out a few toys before selecting one to take home with them.

Penquis says this donation allowed them to double the amount of families they were able to help this year.
