Anika Mladenoff’s 11 points led Northern girls basketball to a 66-28 victory over Hanover in Northern’s 38th annual Tip-Off Tournament Friday.

Mladenoff nailed all three of the Polar Bears’ three-pointers, including two in the first half. Ava Ondecko added 10 points in the effort.

Northern took an 18-4 lead in the first quarter thanks to six different scorers. Hanover scored 12 points in the second quarter to keep pace but could not keep up in the second half.

Iris Diaz led the Nighthawks with eight points and two three-pointers.

Northern is now 2-0 on the young season. Hanover dropped to 0-2 with the loss.
