Furman men's soccer can secure its first trip in school history to the Men's College Cup.
The No. 16 seeded Paladins (15-1-5) play at No. 8 Portland (14-1-4) in the NCAA men's soccer quarterfinals on Dec. 5 (10 p.m. ET, ESPN+).
Furman's quarterfinal berth is the second in school history, with the last one coming in 1999. Furman is on a 13-match win streak. The Paladins' matchup with Portland will be the second in history, with Furman winning the first 2-0.
Furman coach Doug Allison is in his 31 st year and led the Paladins to the NCAA tournament 11 times. He plans to retire after this season.
