Cincinnati and Hamilton County have agreed to a settlement totaling $8,143,000 to compensate hundreds of individuals arrested during the 2020 protests following George Floyd's death, with each plaintiff set to receive nearly $13,000.

The death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer in May 2020 sparked protests across the country, including in Cincinnati, where some protesters damaged property, prompting a stern response from city leaders. Over the course of a week, police arrested more than 400 people for violating a curfew and misconduct during an emergency.
