COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - With the South Carolina Gamecocks’ football season at an end, work to renovate Williams-Brice Stadium has now kicked off.

Crews were on site Friday with heavy equipment to begin demolition work.

WIS saw crews at the stadium on Tuesday working as well. You can watch footage from the scene above this story.

The University of South Carolina and state officials approved final plans for the renovations earlier this year.

University leaders say this marks a new era for Gamecock fans, with more upgrades and amenities coming as the project continues.
