LEXINGTON, Ky. — Human rights organizations could continue facing significant setbacks if their work doesn’t follow the executive orders in place by President Donald Trump.

After the latest conversations with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Lexington’s Human Rights Commission said that it could be among those impacted.

Drawn to trials, public hearings, long conversations and stories from real people, this month marks 28-years that Ray Sexton has been the executive director of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission.

“There are lots of people in vulnerable populations who don’t have a voice. They can’t hire attorneys and things of that nature, and it’s great for organizations such as ours that exist,” Sexton said.
