A man killed in a shooting in East Boston on Tuesday night was identified as a 21-year-old from Cambridge, according to Boston police.
Officers went to 27 Havre St. in East Boston at around 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a person shot. There, they found a man, later identified as Nazir Wallace, of Cambridge, with a gunshot wound, police said in a statement .
Wallace was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting marked the 31st homicide in the city thus far in 2025. By Dec.5, 2024, the city had recorded 22 homicides, according to Sgt. Detective John Boyle, the department’s chief spokesman.
The department’s homicide unit is “actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.” Anyone with information about the shooting is asked
