Washington: The group stage for the FIFA World Cup 2026 was finalised on Friday during a grand Final Draw ceremony at Washington, DC’s John F Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts.
The draw confirmed that the hosts, Mexico and Canada, would face off in the tournament opener on June 11 in Mexico City. The World Cup will be jointly hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
Highlighted matchups include Brazil versus Morocco, the Netherlands against Japan, and France taking on Senegal. Exciting fixtures also feature debutants Cabo Verde, Curacao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan playing against giants Spain, Germany, defending champions Argentina, and Portugal, according to FIFA’s official website.
