SANDUSKY, Ohio — Police confirm a 16-year-old student was arrested Thursday after allegedly bringing a gun "with an extended magazine" into the Sandusky Digital Learning Center .

Authorities say Sandusky City Schools administrators received a report that a firearm was in the building and subsequently notified the school resource officer and the lieutenant on duty. Officers then went to the learning center, where they claim to have found the weapon and the higher-capacity magazine on the suspect's person.

The boy was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Erie County Juvenile Justice Center. According to officials, the teen is also considered a suspect in a home invasion that took place in Sandusky back on Nov. 17, and police say they also arrested 18-year-old Mi'Kayle Pe
