NEW LONDON — Supporters looking to connect the Glacial Lakes State Trail in New London to Sibley State Park voiced optimism about reaching their long-sought goal as they met Tuesday with members of the Minnesota Senate’s Capital Investment Committee in New London.
“This is the last step of a long and arduous process of getting this trail done,” said State Sen. Andrew Lang, R-Olivia, as he welcomed members of the committee to New London. He and State Rep. Dave Baker, R-Willmar, told the senators that they are hopeful of receiving a recommended appropriation of $3,748,000 from the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources to help complete the connection.
