KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Fourth-ranked Minnesota Duluth picked up its 13th win of the season via a 4-1 victory over defending NCHC and NCAA champion Western Michigan in conference play Friday at Lawson Ice Arena on the WMU campus.
Senior wing Scout Truman scored two goals, while freshman defenseman Grayden Siepmann and sophomore wing Max Plante had the others.
Junior center Grant Slukynsky of Warroad scored for the Broncos while his younger brother, sophomore goaltender Hampton, made 26 saves.
UMD sophomore goalie Adam Gajan made 22 saves on 23 shots.
The Bulldogs went 3-for-3 on the power play, with Truman scoring both of his goals on man advantages. He gave UMD a 3-1 lead 13 and a half minutes into the second period and piled on another insurance goal midway through the third.
