WASHINGTON — More than 200,000 portable power bank chargers have been recalled after overheating and causing fires, which resulted in injuries and hundreds of thousands of dollars in property damage.

INIU, the retailer, recalled the product after receiving at least 15 reports of power banks overheating. Eleven of those reports reports included the power banks catching fire and three reported minor burn injuries. Property damage totaled over $380,000, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recall impacts INIU 10,000mAh portable power bank, model BI-B41, according to the recall.

The chargers were sold on Amazon.com from August 2021 and April 2022 for about $18.
