JACKSON -- The Lumen Christi boys basketball team, many of whom were just seven days removed from playing in a state championship game in football, opened the 2025-26 basketball season on Friday by knocking off defending Division 3 state champion Riverview Gabriel Richard 65-56.
In the process the Titans picked up a win over the team who had knocked them out in the state quarterfinal each of the past two seasons.
Despite trailing by double digits early, the Titans rallied in the second quarter, took the lead late in the third, and pulled away in the fourth.
Callan scored 35 points to lead the Titans. Jonathan Morgan added 23.
