New Asheville city manager announced by City Council

ASHEVILLE – City Council announced its pick for the new city manager: Dakisha “DK” Wesley, one of Buncombe County’s assistant county managers.

She will start as Asheville’s city manager, its top non-elected job, Jan. 12.

In a Dec. 5 virtual meeting, City Council voted unanimously to appoint Wesley to the role. The decision followed a roughly 30-minute closed session.
