Doha, Dec 6: In a crucial step toward stabilising war-torn Gaza, an international authority entrusted with governing the region in the next phase of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire is expected to be announced by the end of this year, according to reliable diplomatic sources on Friday.

As per the ceasefire framework, the proposed Board of Peace, chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump, will supervise the reconstruction of Gaza under a renewable two-year mandate of the United Nations. The body is expected to comprise nearly a dozen leaders from key Middle Eastern and Western nations.

Alongside the governance structure, a committee of Palestinian technocrats will be unveiled to manage the daily administrative functioning of Gaza once hostilities fully cease. Dip
