A dog was rescued Friday morning after falling through the ice in Andover, Massachusetts, fire officials said.
Andover Fire Rescue said firefighters responded to Holt Road, finding the dog in the cold water of a pond.

Crews in water rescue suits went into the water and used a rapid deployment craft to get the animal back to shore.
Andover Animal Control brought the dog to a veterinary hospital to be evaluated.
"While this dog was not intentionally being walked near the water off leash, it is an important reminder to always keep your dogs leashed — especially near water in the winter months," Andover Animal Control wrote in a Facebook post .
