FAIRFAX, Iowa (KCRG) - Banana Ball is coming to Iowa Cty this summer. One Iowa City West grad would love to be a part of the action inside Kinnick Stadium as he takes a swing at becoming a Banana.

Nick Fleckenstein has always wanted to play baseball beyond the college level.

“I wouldn’t say it was something I’ve dreamed about for my whole life because my whole life I’ve always wanted to play in the major leagues,” he said.

After playing at five different colleges, he’s decided to take a crack at becoming a Savannah Banana.

“Once the reality hit that college was done, I knew that there were different opportunities that I could pursue, but I didn’t know what. It kind of came down to independent ball and some different leagues like that, and then Banana Ball,” Fleckenstein explained.
