BOISE, Idaho — Nearly 24 hours a day, it's full throttle inside the U.S. Postal Service's Boise Regional Processing and Distribution Center as workers and machines prepare for the busiest shipping season of the year.
The facility is processing over 220,000 packages daily as the holiday rush intensifies, said Janella Herron, a communications specialist with USPS.
"We are Santa's B team when it comes to making sure all those special items get to where they need to go," Herron said.
This year, the facility has four high-tech helpers lending a hand, robotic arms installed in September that are helping keep operations efficient during peak season.
