A weather alert for freezing drizzle and fog that could create hazardous travel conditions through Saturday morning has been issued for 11 New Jersey counties.
The National Weather Service’s special weather statement issued Friday evening includes Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Salem counties.
The alert runs through 6 a.m. Saturday.
“If you’re heading out tonight, just be aware that there could be spotty freezing drizzle around for areas mainly along and south/east of the I-95 corridor but excluding the coast where it should stay above freezing,” the weather service said.
Light precipitation has already begun developing Friday evening, with some potentially falling as freezing drizzle.
