Before the India-South Africa Twenty20 match on December 9, Fire DG Sudhanshu Sarangi today examined the fire safety measures at Barabati Stadium, including the green room, VIP lounge, stadium, and gallery. According to Sarangi, 21 fire tenders of various types would be mobilized along with 350 firemen. Adequate water pumps will be erected to retrieve water from Mahanadi’s Gadgadia Ghat, and seven makeshift fire stations will be established.

He stated that a contemporary mobile control van would be used to monitor the situation using CCTV camera pictures, and two fire control rooms will be operational throughout the game.
