A small seaside town is home to Britain’s smallest cathedral and its impressive cycling route has earnt it the name "Island of a Thousand Bicycles". Millport on the island of Great Cumbrae , Strathclyde, is a lesser-known tourist spot with a cycling route which allows visitors to see the whole island and a stunning 19th century cathedral.
With scenic views of the Kilchattan Bay and Firth of Clyde, the town offers a 10.25 mile cycling route which spans winding roads and uphill paths. Taking just an hour and a half to complete, there’s coastal views and historical sights to admire along the way. Bicycle hire shops in the town offer a range of bicycles across different ages, including an impressive seven-seater bike, with trailers so that family pets can join in.
