New Delhi, Dec 06: Indian Railways has implemented extensive measures to address the surge in passenger demand due to a rise in flight cancellations.

To enhance travel comfort and accommodation availability, 37 trains have been augmented with 116 additional coaches, resulting in over 114 additional trips nationwide.

Southern Railway has made the most augmentations, enhancing 18 trains by deploying additional Chair Car and Sleeper Class coaches on high-demand routes starting from 6 December 2025.

In comparison, Northern Railway has increased capacity on eight trains by adding 3AC and Chair Car coaches, while Western Railway has augmented four heavily travelled trains with 3AC and 2AC coaches, also effective from 6 December 2025.
