Hopewell Valley held a 2-0 lead after the first period with both goals from Dylan Wyckoff. Ryan Goodrich was credited with both assists.
The second period saw back and forth scoring from both teams before Hopewell Valley held a narrow 4-3 lead at the second intermission.
Anders Hedin scored both goals in the third period to give Princeton (0-0-1) a 5-4 advantage. Owen Thedinga answered with the tying goal.
Anna Baumunk recorded 34 saves on 39 shots for Hopewell Valley (1-0-1).
