Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex , has reached out to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, after he was rushed to hospital earlier this week.

Mr Markle had his left leg amputated in a life-saving operation , after it turned black as a result of a blood clot. He was taken to hospital after falling ill at his home in the Philippines.

A spokesman for the Duchess of Sussex said: "I can confirm she has reached out to her father." Meghan hasn't seen her dad since they fell apart in 2018, before her wedding to Prince Harry , it's believed. Their relationship broke down after Mr Markle staged paparazzi photos before the ceremony.
