Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day takes the field for the NCAA football game against the Penn State Nittany Lions at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Nov. 1, 2025.

Ohio State football won the 2024 national championship without beating Michigan or winning the Big Ten championship.

Ohio State and Indiana are the lone remaining unbeaten teams at the FBS level. The winner of the matchup will almost assuredly become the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoff bracket. The loser should still be in a good spot to earn a first-round bye.

The Buckeyes have won 32 consecutive matchups against the Hoosiers. Indiana has not beaten the Buckeyes since a 41-7 win on Oct. 8, 1988, in Bloomington, Indiana.
