Retaining free-agent third baseman Alex Bregman is a priority for the Boston Red Sox. But some with the club view Bo Bichette, previously a division rival with the Toronto Blue Jays, as an intriguing alternative.

That’s from Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon, putting together a report of various things they’ve been hearing around the game for The Athletic. Given the vagueness of the report, I wouldn’t put too much stock in it either way; and it could just as easily be a planted lead to try to gain leverage with Bregman. But who would you take if it came down to the two of them?
