Alex Bregman had a solid 2025 campaign with the Boston Red Sox despite missing a chunk of the season with an injury. The two-time World Series winner joined on a three-year, $120 million deal after nine years with the Houston Astros. But Bregman exercised his opt-out clause to become a free agent yet again this winter. The Detroit Tigers will relaunch their bid to acquire him after their efforts failed in the last offseason.

According to Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report, the Red Sox may decide not to sign the infielder.
