SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Several holiday-themed events are taking place across the Suncoast this weekend as December begins.

The North Jetty Food Truck Rally starts at 5 p.m. Friday at North Jetty Park in Nokomis. The family event will feature yard games, music, and food options.

Centennial Park in Venice will host a free movie screening of “Elf” from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Attendees should bring chairs and blankets.

Downtown Sarasota parade preparations now underway

The Holly Jolly Village Christmas Extravaganza runs Friday and Saturday in Bradenton’s Village of the Arts. Mayor Gene Brown and his wife will appear as Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday. The event runs Friday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
