Ozempic chic

When every celebrity — and every non-celebrity — who can get their hands on a GLP-1 runs to do so, is it a stretch to observe that the so-called “body positivity” movement was a fraud (“Narrow minded,” Allison Lax, Dec. 3)?

From where I sit, the whole spectacle looks like nothing more than a reworking of the “heroin chic” mania that gripped celebrities and filtered into society-at-large years ago.

The empowerment of women in our society is an illusion if we remain enslaved by capricious beauty standards.
