DUBUQUE, Iowa — Residents in the Dubuque area can recycle unwanted holiday lights at several drop-off locations as part of a program by the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency.
This initiative, now in its sixth year, has already recycled over 12,000 pounds of lights.
From November 10, 2025, through January 10, 2026, marked containers for light drop-offs will be available at various locations, including the City of Dubuque Municipal Services Center, Carnegie Stout Public Library, and several branches of the Dubuque County Library.
Additionally, holiday lights and electronics can be recycled year-round at the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency Landfill, though appointments are required for electronic items.
