TEXAS CITY, TX – If you saw the small group of people gathered at Texas City’s City Commission
meeting last night and witnessed their heartfelt hugs, smiles and happy tears, it would have been
natural to think that they were family.
And in many ways, that’s exactly what they’ve become.
They were strangers to each other until early November, when there was a major accident on I-45
involving a female motorcyclist. She was severely injured and was not conscious or breathing. She
also did not have a pulse.
Five women immediately sprang into action, each getting out of her own vehicle and rushing to help
in any way they could. They began to administer CPR and quickly worked together to direct and
divert traffic, clearing a path for emergency responders to get through immediately.
