A woman was shot and killed in Harvey Saturday morning and her husband has been arrested in connection with the slaying.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said the woman, who has not yet been publicly identified, was found dead in the street in the 2200 block of Deerlick Lane. Investigators found her with a single gunshot-wound at about 10:15 a.m., and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s husband, 66-year-old Zed Walker Jr. of Harvey, was on the scene and was taken into custody. JPSO said investigators believe there was a domestic disturbance at a nearby residence before the shooting involving Walker, his adult step-son and the victim.
Investigators say Walker took out a gun during the conflict, and the woman was shot attempting to intervene between her son and husband
