OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Police Officers Association and the governor responded Friday to the shooting that left multiple officers hurt earlier this week.

Three Omaha Police officers were shot and one was injured at a gas station in South Omaha on Wednesday afternoon , looking for a suspect from a shooting earlier in the day that left a 61-year-old man injured.

OPOA has made several social media posts in the aftermath of the shooting, saying Friday:

“We have never seen violence against our officers like this. We can’t recall another time in Omaha’s history when police have been shot at this many times, in separate incidents, this close together.

On Wednesday, three more Omaha police officers were shot and wounded (scene photo below).
