SPARTA, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has arrested Carrie Kelley, 43, of Sparta, Illinois on Friday. The sheriff's office said Kelley faces charges including two counts of theft of property over $1,000,000, one count of wire fraud, and four counts of fraudulent filing of Illinois income tax.

Randolph County investigators began looking into the case in February 2024 after they said there were reports of potential theft at MedStar Ambulance Inc. The sheriff's office said more than $1,000,000 was stolen over several years while Kelley was employed there. The Illinois Department of Revenue and Illinois Attorney General’s Office also assisted in the investigation.

Authorities said Kelley was arrested without incident. She was then taken to the Randolph County Jail.
