Key points as former Birmingham doctor charged with sexual assaults against 38 patients:

A former Birmingham doctor, Nathaniel Spencer, of Quinton, has been charged with dozens of alleged sexual offences against his patients. The 38-year-old faces multiple serious counts, including 15 charges of sexual assault and 17 charges of assault by penetration.

The charges also include counts related to the alleged abuse of minors while he was practicing medicine. This involves nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, three counts of assault by penetration of a child under 13.
