BOISE, Idaho — The Eagle Fire Department quickly extinguished a chimney fire on Friday evening.
Eagle Fire said Crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Dec. 5. When they arrived, they found the chimney was on fire. After the fire was extinguished, crews released the property back to the homeowners.
Eagle Fire is reminding residents to practice chimney safety, including regular cleanings and annual inspections to ensure chimneys are in safe working order.
The department also recommends ensuring spark arrestors are correctly sized and installed, and that smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed on each story level.
