WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Sources tell KWTX former Magnolia president Doug McNamee is the front-runner for the Baylor athletic director position.

McNamee, who currently serves as the president of lifestyle brand Field & Stream, reportedly emerged as the lead candidate for the position over the weekend.

From 2012 to 2018, McNamee also served in the Baylor athletics office as the associate athletic director for the Bear Foundation and later as senior associate athletic director for external affairs. He then left to lead operations for Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia company, where he served as president for four years.

McNamee is a current Wacoan and graduated from Baylor in 2003.
