HARRISONBURG — Norfolk State’s men came up just short in their bid for their fourth straight victory over James Madison, losing 68-67 Saturday at the Atlantic Union Bank Center behind a 33-point performance from the Dukes’ Justin McBride.

Devon Ellis and Elijah Jamison paced the Spartans (4-6) with 17 points apiece in their latest road game, while Keyontae Lewis had 13 points. Jordan Leaks led NSU with 10 rebounds, while Ellis had eight. Anthony McComb III added nine points and six rebounds.

JMU (7-4) moved ahead 24-13, but NSU worked its way back to a 35-32 halftime deficit. A Lewis putback layup gave the Spartans their first lead, 43-42, and the score remained close until JMU earned a 66-59 edge with 3:16 to go.
