A blocked punt and a Ty Simpson interception, and the No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide fell behind 14-0 to No. 3 Georgia in the first half of the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.

At stake is not only the SEC title, but a spot in the College Football Playoff. Many believe the Tide would make the CFP win or lose, as long as the game is competitive.

So far, that hasn’t been the case.

In fact, ESPN’s Heather Dinich suggested prior to the game that the committee could make things interesting Sunday for Kalen DeBoer’s team.

After the first half, quite frankly, it’s Alabama’s worst-case scenario.

The Tide had just 71 total yards and is just 1 of 3 on third downs.

Simpson is just 5 of 12 for 53 yards in the first half.
