FOXBOROUGH — Tewksbury and Scituate battled in one of the highest-scoring state championship games Gillette Stadium has ever seen on Saturday.
Tewksbury’s Ben Christopher scored with 1:42 to go in the fourth quarter to put his team ahead by five.
On Scituate’s next and final drive, Donovan moved the ball down field with pin-point passes and with help from a Tewksbury pass interference penalty in the end zone.
The penalty set up the Sailors on the 15-yard line with less than 20 seconds to go and trailing by one.
Donovan dropped back to pass, took his time to scan the field and found receiver Miller Shea in the middle of the end zone for a game-winning score. The Sailors went on to win 42-41 .
The title is Scituate’s third in five years.
